Makino Wins Inflatable Design Comp

An exciting opening project for the summer season was the judging of our "Design an Inflatable" competition which was promoted as part of this years JAWS Conference.  A huge number of fantastic entries were received, with the majority of them presenting some very cool looking and challenging designs, and some others presenting a "unique" concept.  All in all we were very impressed with the amount of thought and energy that went into your entries.  The judging criteria was based on innovation, challenge, manufacturing feasibility and look.  After a long and hard judging process the entry that came out trumps was received from Makino Aquatic Aquatic Centre in Feilding.  Richard and the team went to great lengths with their entries and managed to submit 3 different designs.  While all of Makino's designs met the criteria, the winning structure was this challenging unit.  Requested that the inflatable be made in plain black, the Makino Inflatable will be part of a naming competition to be run as a summer promotion.  The judging panel liked the fact that the design was a two person challenge which encompassed a climbing wall section prior to a difficult "tube run" and slide.  The new inflatable has been delivered to Makino and will be due to hit the water this summer.  A big congrats to Richard and his team at Makino for their  fantastic entries, and a big thanks from Canvasland to all the facilities that took the time out to participate in the competition.
