Hi

Winter is definitely here, but our large client base of aquatic centres are still operating as though it's the middle of summer!  The Horowhenua Aquatic Centre recently purchased this custom designed inflatable for their toddlers pool.

While the inflatable looks very much like our larger models, it has been purpose built so it can operate safely in shallow pools, like the 0.8m deep pool at The Horowhenua Aquatic Centre.

All little kids love a slide, so this was a key feature that needed to be included on the inflatable even though the pool was very shallow. Consideration also had to be taken for the fact some of the smaller swimmers are not confident being under the water yet. A platform with side buffers was built at the base of the slide to prevent kids landing in the pool after coming down the slide. Once on the platform, they have the choice to either hop in the pool off the platform, or exit the opposite side of the inflatable onto the pool side. A built in sprinkler system was attached to the tunnels of the inflatable to add a bit more excitment and ensure a slippery slide home.

This inflatable was one of many projects taking place under the roof at Canvasland during the past few months.  Read on to see what else has been going on.

Triax Shelter

Khandalla Kindergarten in Wellington recently had this new 5 x 5mtr shelter installed above their sandpit.  What is anticipated to be the first of many installations of this new frame system, it will provide water and sun proof protection and offers the option to fully enclose an area with optional PVC curtains fitted.

Manufactured from galvanised steel poles, the shelter can be custom made to fit most sites, and can be installed either as a free standing structure, if not fitted onto an existing building.

It's Umbrellas All Round

The Wellington hospitality scene has been keeping our Awning and Shade teams busy during the past few months. A number of Cafe's, restaurants and bars have been out looking for ways to utilise their outdoor areas more duing the winter, and our Shademakers umbrellas are proving to be a popular solution.

The Astral T umbrella is ideal for commercal installations because it's wind rated to 60kms and has a clever telscopic winding system which allows for easy opening and closing above any tables, maximising space. They are made up of German engineered corrosion free components and come with a great looking acrylic canvas canopy which can be screen printed.

The umbrellas also offer the opportunity to hang external heaters, lighting or speakers from the frames.  Portable bases can also be custom designed and manufactured if a permanant fixing is not feasible.
