Hi
The stormy weather has certainly let loose around the Nation and the ski slopes are looking pretty fantastic as we head into winter. Canvasland has had a a good lead into winter this year, installing a variety of weather protection products. Suprisingly, there has been an abundance of projects for the domestic sector, where people are preparing to sit tight around home during the cooler months and maybe ride out the "recession" that seems to be gripping the economy at the moment.
PVC curtain systems are proving to be a very popular option for homes, as budget conscious buyers look for a cost effective way to enclose patio and deck areas. Fixed frame awnings have made a resurgence from recent years for the commercial and retail sectors. These sturdy aluminium frame covers provide weather protection above windows and entranceways, and with the ability to print directly onto the awning materials, company branding can be made to stand out from the rest of the street.
In this months newsletter we have included a number of winter weather projects that have been manufactured from both our Levin and Wellington branches.

Channel It Curtains
This Channel It clear curtain system was installed on a new home. The client had already installed a louvered roof at one end and had considered leaving the rest of the structure open but soon found that the exposed weather conditions demanded that he install a weather proof system. The clear panels and roll up system proved to be perfect for the application. Though the opportunity is there for the screens to be rolled up more occasions than not, the client chooses to activate the louver system on the end for ventilation. Chanel It has the look and is a quality product that can be easily installed to most buildings. The aluminium channel can be powder coated to colour match existing buildings, and it provides a versatile and robust weather protection option.
La Bella - Fixed Frame Awning
This 9.300 meter long x 1.200 meter high awning extends out 1.500 meters and has been manufactured in a 40 x 40 aluminum extrusion especially produced by Canvasland. The new extrusion allows for a more effecient manufacturing process and a cleaner finish to the awning.
The La Bella project has recently been installed on the Petone based store. It was required within a tight 10 day time frame where we had to have the awning manufactured and installed onto the building outside of the clients normal trading hours.
Speak Easy Awning
Another fixed frame awning installation was this unit manufactured and fitted for Speak Easy restaurant in Wellington. It is certainly an eye catcher with the clients stainless steel logo attached to the face.
The Ultimate Venue - Mobile Event Facility
The team at The Ultimate Venue approached Canvasland with their innovative mobile marquee design. The marquee frame of the transportable event and function venue needed walls and a roof installed. Canvasland was contracted to manufacture and install these components on the venue, We needed to ensure that the walls and roof fitted in with the quality look and appeal of The Ultimate Venue and portray the clients high product and service standards. Of course, the usual characteristics of a standard marquee needed to be met, all the while taking into considreation our clients need to quickly and easily set up the unit for events, and pack it down into a compact kit for transporting.
The 7.0m x 10.0m venue travels the country and caters for a variety of events from private weddings and functions through to hosting many coporate events. Visit www.theultimatevenue.co.nz for more information.
