Hi “Poor Man’s” DR Plan?
To think that a disaster or some type of an emergency will never happen to your organization is more than naïve - it’s irresponsible. You might think "I'm doing backups everyday and running anti-virus software" - but this is
a 'poor man's' solution to a disaster and it does not mean that you have a Disaster Recovery Plan. These things are necessary, however they are only a small piece of what is required.
The recent power spike in the Wellington region due to problems at the Haywards substation and the catastrophic system failure experienced by Air New Zealand both highlight a need for a solid Disaster Recovery Plan for ALL companies.
In preparing a Disaster Recovery Plan you need to work with four tenants of plan development. They are Mitigation, Preparation, Response and Recovery. Over the next few months we will examine each of these areas in more detail. To view the first principle - Mitigation - follow this link.....

And the latest addition to the LANtech family has come from one of our long term staff members, Andrea Moore - Yes, Andrea and Christian have had a little boy whom they have called Orlando. Orlando made his presence in this world at 9.45pm on Thursday 15th and is a very healthy weight of 3.890kg. Congratulations to you both.
